Tours of of this beautifully restored home, the oldest in Mountain View, are offered concurrently.

A “Genealogy, Family & Memory” cultural arts display will be available for viewing at 3070 N. Shoreline Boulevard, Mountain View during Rengstorff House public tour hours, September 5 - 29, 2010 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Members of the public – including children with their parents and grandparents – are invited to also view this exhibit for extended “open house” hours, Tuesday, September 14, 5:00 – 7:30 pm.

Collectively, the show provides inspiration for the novice, creative art historian or inquisitive genealogist in developing as well as exploring their own craft. Included in the month-long exhibition are a diverse selection of fine art and mixed media pieces, textile art, ancestral quilt, genealogy and even family “altar” displays. In addition, a small series of family tree photo collage works are on view, in collaboration with residents of the senior community, Lytton Gardens. Further, the exhibition offers a free “Genealogy: 101” beginner’s guide for members of the public to take home; visitors are encouraged to view an accompanying educational presentation covering genealogy research basics and the Rengstorff family search.
