We expect normal meetings on Aug 24.
We're calling it "Family Program", not "Children’s Program", to underscore our emphasis on families, not just children. We have two divisions, one for older children, and one for younger children.
  • Our Family Program was featured on Nightline (ABC) on March 28, 2008. Read the Nightline story! You may also like to watch Nightline's introductory video. Their video of the broadcast report is promised "soon."
  • Time magazine has an article about our Family Program (dateline Nov 21, 2007). Although they refer to it as an "atheist Sunday school", they don't claim that we are indoctrinating our kids in atheism. Our Family Program is dogma-free, concentrating on life issues and ethical behavior.
  • The Humanist Community does not back political candidates, but can and does take a stand on social and ethical issues.
Links to the views that we are certain that a majority of us take:
    religious liberty
    church/state separation
    torture
    a woman's right to choose
    stem cell researchAR
    same-sex marriage
    streams of Santa Clara CountyAR

Note: these positions are adopted by the Humanist Community, and are not necessarily those of the AHA or any other group. There are dissenters even within our Community, and their dissent does not make then any less humanist.
