Amy Halpern-Laff

A creature capable of feeling pleasure and pain and other things associated with consciousness, is said to be sentient. Sentientism is the moral view that all sentient beings have rights and interests that must be considered.
Amy Halpern-Laff will present the scientific and humanistic basis for this stand.
Amy is the policy and External Relations Director with the Factory Farming Awareness Coalition and has held leadership roles in organizations promoting education equity, criminal justice reform, and civic engagement. Amy earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude and her JD from Stanford Law School.
