What an Islamic Country Really Looks Like

Jason Paul Kazarian

July 31, 2016

Kosovo is one of four republics that occupies land of the former Yugoslavia. It’s the most American friendly (Bill Clinton, who intervened positively in this country’s favor, is a national hero). So is Hillary for walking into a dress shop, of all things. With all the hullaballoo in the media about Muslims, not to mention Donald Trump’s comments, most of us don’t realize that normal Islamists–not the extremist freak show that really should be kept out of this country–behave and look exactly like our friends and neighbors. Come join HCSV member Jason Paul Kazarian for a photo tour of a predominantly Muslim Baltic state and see what Islam really looks like.

Falkland Island and South Georgia Island are home to the big King Penguins, as well as to many seals and albatross. HCSV members Min and Ed Yates will show pictures from their trip there on a National Geographic Lindblad tour, in addition to a video made by the tour’s videographers. The Yates have traveled extensively, including to Antarctica (twice!) and the Arctic. They consider these visits among their most interesting, and want to share their experiences with us.
