David Diskin

Camp Quest is a national organization whose local affiliates provide week-long summer camp programs to children in secular families. With over a dozen locations throughout the United States, including two in California, they are the only national organization that is focused on the children of the secular movement.  David Diskin, president of Camp Quest West (California), will present an overview of Camp Quest West and their week-long program that combines traditional outdoor All-American fun with interactive science activities that help kids become familiar with skepticism, the scientific method, and Humanist philosophies.  (See www.CampQuestWest.org)

Robert Nelson

Robert Nelson, who spent two years working in one of Illinois’ highest-end treatment facilities for children, will discuss anger management within the context of conduct disorder, and how psychopathology can result from abuse.

Scott Drexel from the National Popular Vote campaign, will discuss the National Popular Vote bill, which would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in the entire United States. Roy Speckhardt

American Humanist Association Executive Director Roy Speckhardt will give a talk about, and host a book signing for, his new book, Creating Change Through Humanism, just published by Humanist Press. Speckhardt will explore the modern state of humanism and how our forward-thinking outlook, with its emphasis on critical thinking and self-reflection, can be at the forefront of pressing social issues.
