The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) is hosting a fundraising event at Humanist House on Thursday, August 11 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Wine and light hor d’oeuvres will be served.
The IHEU is the global representative body of the humanist movement, uniting a diversity of non-religious organizations and individuals. Founded in Amsterdam in 1952, the IHEU vision is a Humanist world; a world in which human rights are respected and everyone is able to live a life of dignity. The IHEU works to build and represent the global Humanist movement that defends human rights and promotes Humanist values world-wide.
Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, the IHEU is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) with representation on various United Nations committees and other international bodies. The IHEU seeks to influence international policy through representation and information, to build the humanist network, and let the world know about the worldview of Humanism.
The IHEU has over 113 member organizations around the world, including the American Humanist Association in Washington, DC. The IHEU is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Donations to the IHEU are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Special guests will include Andrew Copson, IHEU President and Carl Blackburn, IHEU Chief Executive, and other members of the IHEU executive board. Our goal is to support the global humanist movement by helping us raise $10,000 at this event!
If you wish to attend, please RSVP by August 4 by contacting Maggie Ardiente at 202-238-9088 ext. 116 or maggie@americanhumanist.org. Additionally, you may print out the invitation reply card and mail your donation to IHEU.
